Richard Renaldi is an American photographer whose book Touching Strangers has a fascinating premise. He traveled around the US, setting up his large-format camera in various locations, and approached strangers, asking them to pose for an image.
The only directive: they had to touch each other in some way.

The results are fascinating.
They paint a sort of tender view of humanity and how we can all relate to each other if just prompted to.

There also is something interesting about this being a book shot all pre-covid. Something tells me that this project would have looked very different if it was shot today.

Here at Harper Finch, we're all about supporting and inspiring photographers. One way we do that is by sharing a look at photographers that inspire us. No matter what genre of photography you are in, we feel it can be so interesting to be inspired by the imagery of others.
What photography books are you drawing inspiration from these days?

LOVE Richard Renaldi. He lectured at my class in college and I have all his books.
