Dina Litovsky on how to carry a camera

This talented professional photographer shares everything—from shooting the Grammys afterparty to tips on carrying your camera. She also discusses why working for "exposure" is a giant Ponzi scheme 🕴️

Dina Litovsky is a Ukrainian-born photographer based in New York City.

She's known for her unique style of social documentary photography, and has shot for some heavy hitting publications like National Geographic and TIME magazine.

We love her work, but even more, we love her Substack 👩‍💻

It's a unique, candid look into the life of an editorial photographer, and if it's not already on your radar, we think you might want to take a look.

She shares everything from her first assignment for National Geographic (she traveled to Branson, Missouri for a professional Santa Claus convention 🎅), to her take on how to hold a camera properly 📸

We love her work, and even more so are excited to see where her Substack takes her. In the world of journalism, we've seen many writers launch successful Substacks. As editorial assignments, and the publications that fund them, have dwindled in the past years, this is definitely an interesting area of potential.
If you're an editorial photographer, or just interested in seeing into the world and life of an editorial photographer at the top of her game, we definitely recommend you take a peek at her Substack.
