Inspiration from John French

Here's a photographer whose work might just redefine how you see your craft.

John French was a photographer in post war London. Fashion editors loved his attention to detail.

He was often shooting inexpensive, ready to wear fashions, but he would make sure that they looked immaculate, using weighted LED and invisible threads and clips to style them just right.

Fashion industry insiders said anything he shot would sell out in hours. We take a lot of inspiration from his attention to detail, especially in those pre Photoshop days.

Oh, I love John French’s work! I actually studied some of his photos in a class I took at SCAD. His attention to detail and ability to elevate everyday fashion were a big part of our discussions—it’s amazing how timeless his style feels even now!
